A Prayer for America
You know Lord, when you come back to get your children, we hope you do not look at the world with a critical eye. We know it does not compare to the trials and tribulations of the past, but we worry about your children Lord. The moneychangers of your time offended you, as would the moneychangers of today.
Built by Jesus on high is the land where we will never grow old, but in this land we grow old and weary, not knowing what will happen next. These are our troubles and trials, dear Lord. One of these days we will have a great celebration, but there is little to celebrate today as that which is beyond our control spirals out of control each day.
When you come back to get your children we pray that you will forgive those who do not know how to celebrate in your name, but instead celebrate that which brings them riches at the cost of others.
You are the Lily of the Valley dear Lord, shining as bright as the morning star. Our mornings do not look as bright these days dear Lord, as we ask for strength, guidance, and a morning star to guide us through troubled times. It is humbling to know not where we are headed, and to know we are not in charge of our destiny.
As we lift up our heads you lift up our hearts, dear Lord, and show us the way. Your vision is much different from the visions of our earthly leaders. Now is the time to lift up our hearts and our souls, if you will dear Lord. We long for a vision with stability and clarity. Let us remember your vision in these troubled times.
There is a family Bible on the table dear Lord, but we have less time. We count our many blessings one by one, but our leaders also need your blessings, as they truly lost the way and the truth and the light. The family Bible brings stability to our home while this old world of ours is full of trouble.
How I long to hear "Rock of Ages" as our world is rocked by high prices and families struggling to keep their houses and homes. The home is the security for the family Bible. Please let it be that way for years to come.
From the cradle to the grave your children benefit from your guidance and the guidance of mother and father. If it shall be your desire dear Lord please give us the strength and guidance to see the light. May You allow happiness where there is little today. May you give us clarity while our leaders seek to cloud the issues and bring trials and tribulations upon us.
As we walk on God's Highway please remind us of the promises for all of us. Allow us to see beyond today as our leaders seek to differentiate between those who are worthy, and those who are not, based solely upon standing and our worth to them and not you dear Lord.
Shine your light all through the day dear Lord and we will see it. Judge not those who lost the way on glory's road. We have come a long way on the Glory Road and shall not stop our journey now. Show mercy on the moneychangers, gamblers, politicians, and speculators. We pray they do not ruin this land, as it is your land dear Lord.
Meanwhile we will continue the good run. We are running up the hill to heaven's door. While each day may seem like an uphill battle, we are reminded that we a running up the hill trying to get to Our Lord.
